Paul at Wingate

Posted Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

On Wingate, we are currently in the process of mudding the majority of the house. There are a couple places – closets for example – where we are still hanging sheetrock, but for the most part the interior of the house is all closed in and starting to look like, well, a house.

As for the exterior of the house, we have finished siding, all the windows and doors have been installed, and we’ve built two decks, both facing the playing fields across Rapides St. One deck on the other side of the house remains to be installed.

Paul has been slaving away on plumbing, trying to get it all ready for an inspection, and we are waiting on a lackluster electrician to come by and address some final issues but we are still hoping to get the Buissons in by March. Ms. Cheryl is doing well – her Gumbo’s better than ever – as is Paul, who is working with an Indian author on a book about comparative religion.

Below are some pictures:

After starting off slowly, this house is picking up speed. Half of the walls are painted and the exterior work is mostly done (all that’s left is painting the new window trim).
