“Beloved community is formed not by the eradication of difference but by its affirmation, by each of us claiming the identities and cultural legacies that shape who we are and how we live in the world.”

  -Bell Hooks

This month, Project Homecoming is working to raise funds for a beautiful 4-plex in the historic neighborhood of Treme. The homeowner, Ms. Rahsanna, has worked tirelessly to reconstruct at least one unit so that her family can return home.

Even though Project Homecoming does not have the means to repair the entire structure, the Marketing and Construction departments have devised a plan to restore the exterior of the home. Due to poorly installed siding and windows, the foundation has started to rot and mold has formed on the inside walls.

We hope you will join us in our efforts to raise $6,750. 100% of all donations will go towards repairing the windows with proper flashing and repairing the weatherized/damaged parts of the home. Please help support Ms. Rahsaana by making a donation, creating a fundraising page today, or by simply sharing her story on Facebook and Twitter. Help Project Homecoming spread the word for Ms. Rahsaana and her family.
