Volunteers Build Tables for Hurricane Survivors
Project Homecoming and the Greater New Orleans Disaster Recovery Partnership are looking forward to receiving 150 handcrafted dining room tables from The Western Pennsylvania Table Project. Jim Moose of New Wilmington Presbyterian Church was inspired to help hurricane survivors in this way after a mission trip came back with the story of a person who was moved to tears after receiving donated furniture for her Habitat home. The recipient of the furniture had not had a dining room table in three years, and the same is still true for thousands of families in New Orleans. We are grateful to our friends in Pennsylvania for their thoughtfulness and hard work, and we are trusting God to also bring some chairs our way!
